A Home-Based Business, or a Home-Based Job:Know The Difference

When people say they “want to work from home” that can mean a lot of different things. For some people they simply mean they would like to do the job they do now… from home. Many employers across the country offer work at home programs, that will allow you to do the very same job you would be doing sitting at your office, at work, from home.

However, if that isn’t an option for you and your job, you’ll have to find another way to make money from home.

The first thing you’ll have to do when trying to find something to do from home is decide if you want a home based BUSINESS or a home based JOB; and, believe it or not, they are two very different things.

A home based business is exactly what it sounds like… it is a business. You are the boss and you are in control of everything. When you own your own home based business you will be able to set your own hours, set your own goals or quotas; and best of all be able to give yourself a raise whenever you want.

A home based job is exactly that, a job… just from home. You will still have a boss, you’ll still have a workload given to you, and you’ll have a set amount of time to do it in. The boss will also decide how much you deserve to get paid and, worst of all, you can still get fired.

If you are looking for a home based job you might want to stop reading right here; because this article probably isn’t going to be a help to you. If it’s a home based business that you seek, you may have just found what you’re looking for.

That is a key difference between owning a business and having a job. Whenever people tell me they don’t want to invest any money in their business I know it’s not really a business they are seeking… it’s a job

There are about a million different options when it comes to finding the right home based business for you. So many that it can actually be a little overwhelming. One of the first things you’ll want to think about is what kind of investment you are prepared to make, to launch your own home based business.

Now that you’ve decided the freedom and lifestyle of a home based business is right for you, you will want to determine what type of product or service you can market; that meets a certain ongoing, and growing, demand.

It’s true that a job will allow you to save some money but it will never allow you the financial and personal freedom that you’ll find by owning your own business.

Once you have a good idea of how much you’d be willing to invest, you’ll want to start thinking about the type of product or service you’d like to sell or market... and you will want to make sure it’s a product that has integrity and long term value ... something that you are going to feel comfortable marketing… something that you can get excited about.

If it is a home based business you seek I recommend you consider either (a) the "De-regulated Energy" industry or (b) the "Consumer Driven Health Care" market for starters. Both have significant 6-t0-7 figure, "recession proof," income potential.
